MEF Okullarında, “Tam Öğrenme Modeli” benimsenmiştir.

Tam Öğrenme Modeli, her öğrencinin aynı konuyu kavrama süresinin farklı olduğu gerçeğinden hareketle yeterli zaman verildiğinde, her öğrencinin öğrenebileceği esasına dayanır.
Buna göre, sınıfta “tam öğrenme“nin gerçekleşmesi için, dersin içeriğine bağlı olarak tüm öğrencilerin, işlenen konunun %80-90’ını öğrenmeleri hedeflenir. Tam öğrenmenin bazı ilkeleri şöyle sıralanabilir:
Öğretim sürecinde “Tam Öğrenme Modeli” uygulanırken;

• Öğrenciler konuya motive edilir.
• Öğrencilerin öğrenmeleri için uygun koşullar sağlanır.
• Her konu için yeterli zaman ayrılır (hangi öğrenme basamağına kadar öğretileceği önceden belirlenir), tüm öğrencilerin konuyu öğrenmeleri sağlanır.
• Bir ünite ya da konu ile ilgili hedef/hedef davranışlar tam olarak öğrenilmeden, bir sonraki konuya geçilmez.
• Öğrencinin, öğretim sürecine katılımı sağlanır.
• Tam öğrenme ölçütü önceden belirlenir (Örneğin %80-90).
• İzleme testlerinin sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin öğrenme eksiklerini giderici çalışmalar yapılır.
• Ders saati dışında da öğrencilerin konuya ilgi duymaları sağlanır.
• Öğrenciye verilen araştırma projeleri ile öğrencilerin konuyu incelemelerine, araştırmalarına ortam yaratılır.

MEF Schools have adopted the “Mastery Learning Model” which is founded on the principle that every student can learn the same subject given sufficient time, recognizing that each student has a unique pace of comprehension.

To achieve mastery learning in the classroom, the goal is for all students to understand 80-90% of the subject matter, depending on the lesson’s content. Some key principles of mastery learning include:

When implementing the “Mastery Learning Model” in the teaching process;

• Students are motivated to engage with the subject.
• Suitable conditions are created to facilitate student learning.
• Sufficient time is allocated for each subject (it is predetermined up to which learning level it will be taught), and all students are ensured to learn the subject.
• Objectives or target behaviors related to a unit or topic are fully learned before moving on to the next topic.
• Active student participation in the teaching process is encouraged.
• The mastery criterion (e.g., 80-90%) is established in advance.
• Learning deficiencies are addressed based on follow-up test results.
• Students’ interest in the subject is cultivated beyond class hours.
• Research projects are assigned to provide opportunities for students to explore and investigate the subject matter.
